Eli Zigas, Advocacy & Planning
Eli Zigas is a strategic policy advocate who has worked on campaigns at the local, state, and national levels. Most recently, he was the founder and executive director of Fullwell, a California-based organization working to advance local, state, and federal food policy that promotes health, justice, and sustainability. In addition to managing the organization's fundraising, budget, and strategic direction, Eli led the organization’s successful multi-year efforts to secure more than $60 million from the California state budget to make healthy food more affordable for low-income Californians.
Eli takes a soup-to-nuts approach to his work, enjoying both big-picture thinking as well as detailed project implementation. He is a firm believer in bringing joy and humor (especially puns) into all his work, all in the service of sustaining the push toward concrete outcomes.
Earlier in his career, Eli was program manager for DC Vote, an education and advocacy nonprofit organization in Washington, D.C. He also previously served as President of the board of The SF Market.
